Yes, indeed - tomorrow starts my so far longest trip: Elche-Valencia-Barcelona-Austria-Hungary-Madrid-Elche.... hoping to be back by 5th of December... uff..... :)
Besides that, my mother is visiting me so I have been rather busy with entertaining her!
And, yeah, that's it!
Peace,
Ilziii...

Lai dzivo Latvija! :)
Although in Spain, I still managed to celebrate the 18th of November a bit. I had invited all Erasmus to the Latvian dinner, which means - I was cooking! :D Wanted to make something traditional from potatoes and meat, as the options are very limited here due to the unavailability of raw materials. Anyway, everything started very well, but during the process I faced some problems and changed the initial idea completely, so what came out in the end was Patatas'a'la'Ilze instead of cepeliini... But they said they liked! :D The evening turned out great as the dinner and chatting lasted for 5 hours! :)
Basically being in Spain is super cool - as I do not have many lectures, I usually go to sleep at 2am and wake up at midday; the only subject in which I have to do some more or less important home works I can do it in English and it is still 20 degrees during the day! :)
The weekend was relatively calm as we are still a bit sick, but it still means that we went out on Friday and Saturday, but returned rather early - 5am. And we have reached the point where Elche just seems too small for partying so we see our night'life future in Alicante! :D
Buchas!

Rrrr....
Sick! Not of Spain but in Spain! Have no idea how is it possible (still 22 degrees during day...), but here we are - me and Emilie, feeling tired all day long and breaking our fantastic weekend plans... Rrrr.... But no worries - I have lots of tea, garlic and willingness to fight with the sickness! :)
Apart from that, I had 2 more tests this week - in Financial Planning, which was very easy, basically only basics of forecasting but still for 5th year students; and in International Trade which was very funny, as almost all exercises demanded written explanation but taking into account that my written spanish is not in a very advanced level, I think professor will laugh quite a bit while correcting! :D
And I think there are no more news from my side so I shall keep trying to find smth interesting to watch!
Peace and health!

Top Scoring and Cheating!
Yes, it really happened - I got my first...
and it was in Finance, so no kidding! ;) Actually it is quite funny, because my score was only 55% (due to the fact that professor is being very tough and I have totally forgotten derivatives) but it was still way better than the average result (I think around 30%)... yes, Finance is tough even in Spain!
And now the cheating part... Actually we had a very entertaining lecture of International Trade yesterday. It started with professor returning us our assignments - it turned out that mine was exactly the same as the one of Zakari! :D Professor had noticed that, but - Ou well, it is Spain... Zakari talked a bit with him, but no problem! :) and then he returned another assignment... for this one he said that ALL people (around 30) have the same mistakes... O'ouuuu, you might think, but, again, it is Spain, so professor came up with a very interesting solution: Not giving home works anymore! :D But that was not it - as he wanted to see how much we know of what we had to do for yesterday's lecture (we just had to search for information about some contracts in internet), he collected our home works and asked us to briefly write what were those contracts about. As NOONE knew anything, the discussion started: "But professor, you asked to search for information, not read or understand it!" - that was my favorite sentence! :D After that everyone just started laughing, including professor! And again: Ok, forget it, let's move on!
This is how cheating problems are solved in Spain, pretty hard to imagine smth like that in SSER, but I guess that is why I am here - to get different experience! ;)

Erasmus Traditions
Lately there have been some Erasmus traditions developed here:
Tuesday Eve = eating time! Every week there is one person making traditional dinner for all 5 of us. Last week Emilie made us pasta with some meat sauce which was more like Italian food, but taking into account her cooking skills VERY good. Yesterday Lizzie prepared us Peru traditional food - rice, meat, tomato and a lot of garlic and onions. And again, extremely tasty! Next week is Zakari's turn with foor from Belgium and I have booked November 18th! :) Any suggestions regarding what I should prepare are more than welcome! :p
Wednesday Eve = movie time! I already wrote how amazing movie we saw last week. Today we knew it will not be that good but we hoped for smth normal at least... well - not so much! :D I thought it will be in English with Spanish subtitles. Or at least in Spanish. But oh no, after 5min of watching and thinking that it is some short moment of Germans speaking, we discovered that the movie is actually in Valencian (local dialect of Spanish. Connection is smth like between Latvian and Lithuanian). And the movie was called "Copying Beethoven", so I think that not really my taste anyway. So after 15min of not understanding anything we decided to leave. So hoping for better luck next time! :D
Apart from that, today started my extensive Spanish course - a bit late (it was supposed to start in the beginning of October) but as it is Spain... Take it easy! ;) Out of all 5 Erasmus only I and Emilie wanted to take it, so we have more like private lessons. The professor seems very into Spanish language and reading, but explains everything very well, so my Spanish level is expected to improve! :) The only problem is that he likes visualizations so today he wanted us to make a little some-kind-of-theatre about any topic... not my favorite thing to do, but... we imitated a usual Friday Eve discussion in our apartment on the topic "Where shall we go out today?" :D

Hey Yaa...!
Hey hey, I am back and have good news - I have got different photos, so this promises to be an interesting entry in my blog! ;)
So, as we had a long long weekend (from Thursday till Sunday) we wanted to explore Spain a bit. Due to different reasons :p the trip to Granada was postponed but instead to went to Murcia, which is reasonably close - one hour train ride. And it is actually a very beautiful city... and even a bit warmer than Elche! :)
We:
And a bit of architecture:
And a bit of olives:
What is more... Photo from Beginning-of-the-Year-Fiesta with one of the professors:
And in the Mexican restaurant afterwards:
And my hands in the middle of the night... and these were not all the stamps... :p
And some pre-party on our roof:
Striving to be equally tall:
As to everything else - everything is going great! :) Have some test coming up, so shall start studying a bit... Still attending swimming pool and have even started jogging sometimes. And bought my ticket to Riga - December 15th (will happen to miss one week in university :D). And also bought my tickets for visiting Lelde, Kalvi, Kristiine and Eiko (will happen to miss another week in university :D). And weather is still warm during day - around 22, but getting cold during nights - around 14, so as we don't have any heating system, kind a freezing in the mornings... And I have decided to change my daily rhythm - don't like waking up at 2pm and seeing sun only for couple of hours anymore!
Greetings to all and special greetings to Princese & Bubis! ;)

HALLOWEEN
It all started with and idea to visit cinema on Wednesday evening as every Wednesday the entrance is free for students. So we went there. After passing the entrance, 2 women-witches wanted to persuade us to choose Halloween movie instead of the usual. As I am not a fan of scary movies and nor where my mates, we entered the normal movie hall... however, Lizzie was left behind and was persuaded to choose the other one - ok, let's try... We enter the hall and it seems like a big party is about to begin - people dressed up as Halloween monsters, screaming, jumping and having fun! Looks fun! So we take some of the last free seats and wait for the movie... Scene 1: Wedding. Married couple comes out of the church and guests are throwing rice on them. Suddenly we feel like rice is coming on our heads as well! :o So we decide to check the paper about the movie... Turns out that when coming to movie you should be equipped with rice, water, birthday hats, toilet paper, newspaper, confetti and other things used to create the movie atmosphere! :D Next scene: 2 people driving in the car... car breaks, so they decide to go looking for help... unfortunately it is raining... :D Yes, we got wet as well... so all the movie is basically one great party with different attractions, screaming and even dancing in between! As I am not much of a Halloween 'celebrater', can truly say that there where the BEST Halloween EVER! :) and the movie wasn't scary actually, it was more like funny old movie about homosexual guy and his servants living in an old castle, where those 2 people went for help when it was raining.
And the evening ending with enjoying ice-cream cocktails in my beloved Cafe Paris! What more can I want! :)
